Mickey Gilley - The Urban Cowboy
Mickey Gilley was an influential American country music singer best known for his smooth, piano-driven sound and a long run of hits from the 1970s through the 1980s.

A cousin of rock ’n’ roll pioneer Jerry Lee Lewis, Gilley blended traditional country with pop and rock elements, helping shape the “countrypolitan” style.

He scored numerous number-one songs, including “Room Full of Roses” and “Don’t the Girls All Get Prettier at Closing Time,” and became a central figure in the urban cowboy movement.

Gilley also co-owned the famous Gilley’s nightclub in Texas, which further cemented his legacy in country music and popular culture.
